The Summary Risk Indicator (SRI) is a guide to the level of risk of this product compared to other products. It shows how likely it is that the product will lose money because of movements in the markets or because we are not able to pay you. The categorization of a product is not guaranteed and may change in the future. Even the lowest category 1 does not mean a risk-free investment.

Asia ex Japan equities rose in May. Hong Kong was the best-performing market in the region, followed by Taiwan and South Korea. Australian equities also rose in May, while ASEAN markets made a small positive return. Many Asian currencies appreciated significantly against the US dollar over the month. Offshore and mainland Chinese equities rebounded in May on optimism around fresh government stimulus measures and thawing Sino-American trade tensions. Stocks soared in a mid-month relief rally after Washington and Beijing announced a 90-day trade ceasefire following negotiations in Geneva, with the US reducing tariffs on Chinese imports to 30% and China slashing tariffs on US goods to 10%.
